Nieco

Nieco

Nieco was formed as a division of NIM to provide custom engineering and fabrication of automated food processing equipment and systems. This expertise in the food processing industry led to the opportunity to develop the first automated conveyor broiler using infrared burner components in the world.

Reliable Workhorses

These automatic systems proved to be reliable and provide a stable and predictable cooking environment and during the late 1960's were put into use in a variety of large theme parks through out the world. Many fast food operations including Burger King and Carls Jr. adopted the unique Nieco technology and have benefited from the broilers' consistency and labor savings since their first installation in the 1970's.

During the 80's Nieco began to innovate and introduce new systems designed for menu flexibility and for thicker products. The Flexi-Chef was released in 1989 as an adaptable broiling platform designed to accommodate the needs of casual dining operations. Since that time, thousands of Flexi-Chefs have been and are continuing to be used in operation, cooking everthing from steaks to ribs to fish. This innovative broiling system continues to evolve into an integral part of restaurant kitchens everwhere.

Why Nieco?

Because, in 1977, the introduction of an automatic Burger Broiler was an intriguing prospect, and the fact that Burger King were huge Nieco users in the USA made it seem a good business proposition, which it turned out to be and the name Nieco is now synonymous with Burgers worldwide.

Models have changed over the years but Nieco have avoided incorporating complicated electronic controls and instead relied upon parts well proved to withstand the intense heat produced bny its equipment.

The most significant innovation from Nieco during this past 27 years was the development of the Incendalyst ? a catalytic converter which reduces broiler emissions and smells by approximately 90% which is good for the environment, and virtually eliminates the risk of ductwork fires.
